We have put together a special selection of fourteen Las Vegas destinations to highlight for self-guided tours. Las Vegas offers stunning theatrical productions, amazing shopping, historic curiosities, and something for everyone. We have selected outings that show off the personality, history, and flair of this great city that range from world-class sights to local quirky, must-see attractions.

On our list are Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil shows, Las Vegas' giant Observation wheel - The Linq, The Pinball Museum, The Burlesque Hall of Fame, The Fremont Street Experience, and more! If you have a little time (or a lot of time!) we will have suggestions to help you plan a memorable experience.

Fremont Street Experience (After Dark)

Best time to visit: after dark

A four-block section of Fremont Street in downtown has been covered over with a massive video screen that serves as a canopy. Known as the Fremont Street Experience, each night a fantastic music and visual show takes place overhead. Street performers and special entertainment acts often perform outdoors in this area. There’s even a zip line out of a giant slot machine if you are looking for a sure thrill.

Wynn Casino and Grounds

Best time to visit: anytime, but evenings are the best

With world-class dining, shopping, spas, golf and entertainment, there's no shortage of things to do at Wynn. The Wynn Esplanade offers a unique shopping experience with stores including Chanel, Manolo Blahnik, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta and others for window shopping. Tryst is its signature nightclub, offering a secluded lagoon inside the club and spacious dance floor. Blush, the Wynn’s ultra lounge, draws swanky party-goers. Tryst, Wynn’s signature nightclub, is situated along a private lagoon under a 90-foot waterfall and plays host to some of the world’s most renowned DJs.

Theatrical Production

Best time to visit: evenings

There is no other city that offers the variety and number of shows that Las Vegas does. The art of Cirque de Soleil, the antics of Blue Man Group, the mystery of David Copperfield and Chris Angel, concerts and comedy shows will undoubtedly dazzle. Book early or hunt for a same day ticket. Whatever your entertainment tastes might be, you can surely satisfy them at one of the shows in Las Vegas.

High Roller Observation Wheel

Best time to visit: evenings

Soaring 550 feet above the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the High Roller eclipses both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer. With sweeping 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley and the Strip, the wheel takes thirty minutes to complete one revolution and features twenty-eight spacious cabins to accommodate guests. Whether enjoying a standard cabin or a Happy Half Hour open bar, the High Roller offers stunning views and a memorable turn during your Vegas vacation. Great Restaurants and shopping are nearby as well.

Shopping

Best time to visit: daytime

Shopping is pure entertainment in Las Vegas. Off the Strip and around town are some of the best retail experiences in the world. At The Grand Canal Shops in The Venetian, you take a gondola ride or stroll through a likeness of Venice. At The Bellagio, there are Art galleries and a botanical garden. At The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, statues move and volcanoes erupt. Shop inside a glass pyramid at Luxor. If a sign points to shopping, go inside and be amazed. If you are more comfortable with a mall approach, Fashion Island Mall is on the Strip. A bit further north is Las Vegas Premium Outlets. Town Square and Tivoli Village could also make your list. All are reachable by taxi, Lyft, or Uber. Also, check with your concierge for shuttles.

Burlesque Hall of Fame

The Burlesque Hall of Fame (BHoF) is the world’s premier organization dedicated to preserving the living legacy of burlesque as an art form and cultural phenomenon. With a collection of several thousand costumes, stage props, photographs and personal effects documenting the careers and lives of burlesque dancers, comics, and producers over nearly a century, the museum is a growing testament to the power and social impact of the art of tease. The museum has recently relocated to a brand new space. Check it out for some fun and spicy history only found in Las Vegas.

National Atomic Testing Museum

Best time to visit: until 5 PM

The National Atomic Testing Museum (NATM) is a national science, history and educational institution that tells the story of America’s nuclear weapons testing program at the Nevada Test Site. The Museum uses lessons of the past and present to better understand the extent and effect of nuclear testing on worldwide nuclear deterrence and geopolitical history. The Museum is also an affiliate of The Smithsonian and one of a handful of private national museums and showcases some of the rarest artifacts relating to the nation’s atomic testing program. It is a quirky place that is fun to see and certainly timely and educational. Worth a visit!

Pinball Hall of Fame

Best time to visit: open 11 AM - 11 PM

A great neighbor to other quirky Las Vegas sites is the Pinball Hall of Fame. The 10,000 square foot facility is packed wall-to-wall with an enormous collection of restored authentic pinball games from the 1950s  through the 1990s. If you were a fan of pinball or are a fan of the off-beat, the Pinball Hall of Fame will not disappoint.

Downtown Las Vegas

Best time to visit: late afternoon

North of the Strip is an area referred to as Downtown Las Vegas. This is the original area where the city gained its reputation. The Strip is new and always being reinvented. Downtown has a grittier vibe and some of the best artifacts of Vegas’ past combined with giant scale technology. The Freemont Street Experience includes a giant video canopy and a zip line from inside the world’s largest slot machine. Walk around during the day to see world-class street art, innovative small scale shopping and some of the best ‘foodie’ spots in town.  At night, the area is great for people watching, street performers and a glimpse into where it all began.

Wayne Newton’s Casa de Shenandoah

Best time to visit: 10 AM - 2 PM

Las Vegas has enjoyed many hey-days and super stars at different times during its glittering past. A classic is Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton. If you like a little kitsch and a wonderful home tour – you can’t beat this. You will see Mr. Newton’s luxury car collection including ones previously owned by Johnny Cash and Carol Burnett. His jet and hanger, exotic animal sanctuary, Arabian horse collection and more will make this a great 2 to 3-hour outing.

Fountains of Bellagio

Best time to visit: Evenings | Every 30 minutes until 8 PM | Every 15 minutes after 8 PM

Directly on the Strip in front of the Bellagio Resort are The Fountains of Bellagio. The lake there performs a choreographed musical light and water show that is one of the largest in the world. There are many great spots to take in the free show. Find a comfortable spot on the Strip to watch the performance or dine at one of the restaurants that line the lake. The scale and precision of this performance are amazing. You will know you are in Las Vegas when you see the water dance.

The Strip

Best time to visit: after dark

The Classic Las Vegas experience involves a walk on the famous Strip. The 2.5-mile long central section of Las Vegas Boulevard will take you by the "biggest and brightest" that the city offers. There is entertainment along the way and all varieties of food and fun. The most visited area is from the Mandalay Bay to Treasure Island. We suggest starting The Aria and walking to the Wynn. Make sure your camera is charged and your shoes are comfortable.

Full Day and Half Day Tours - Grand Canyon, Riverboat on Lake Mead to Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon

If you have planned a whole day to spare in Las Vegas, there are some amazing day trips and real adventure all around. Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Riverboat on Lake Mead, and Red Rock Canyon are just a few. Your travels could include a full day or a half day. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

South on the Strip is a whole underwater world. Shark Reef Aquarium is the home of over 2,000 animals including the saw fish, giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranha, jellyfish and the rare golden crocodile. This unique exhibit gives you the chance to dive with a higher concentration of exotic sharks than you'd ever find in the wild. Become an aquarist for a day and feed stingrays, sharks or turtles in our Animal Encounters program. Shark Reef Aquarium is introducing their newest exhibit – the world premiere of Polar Journey, An Interactive Adventure. Open for a limited time, this interactive experience gives guests a glimpse into the Earth’s polar regions and the animals that call them home.
