The Blurb Connection: Using Publications to Promote and Engage
Friday, September 19
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The truth is that books hold a special place in our hearts and our history, and they signify permanence, thoughtfulness and story. What has worked for me as a photographer also works for those of you seeking to fundraise, build an audience of supporters or say thank you to those who have supported your cause. Blurb is the world’s premiere indie-publishing platform, and has emerged as a multi-tooled support system for any person, group or large organization who wants to publish a professional publication to further a cause. Much has changed since the mid 2000’s and organizations are now capable of reaching global prospects and donors with book-store quality books, professional magazines and Ebooks, with support through the entire process, from creation to  distribution and fulfillment. The Blurb tools of today allow for a precise narrative to be told, as well as the ability to update and expand a publication when the need arises. Issue-to-issue customization, a multitude of styles and materials and affordability allow for a personal engagement with whatever audience we seek to engage. “The Blurb Connection” presentation will walk audience members through the basics of the Blurb platform. Daniel Milnor “Photographer at Large” for Blurb, Inc. will explain the benefits of print and digital bookmaking,  as tools for donor relations and communication as well as the practical importance of the magazine in engaging with supporters. This presentation is for all levels. Attendees should being their notepad, questions and inquisitive nature.
