In Service: The Column of the ADRP President - December 2024

Scott Eichinger

2024-2025 ADRP President

Happy Holidays to all of you!

I've been living in my Reminder app. I'm adding to my lists and checking them twice. It feels constant! Some days, the lists are so long it makes me want to pout, but mostly, I've been good at keeping up with everything. But December tends to fly by, leaving less and less time to tackle those to-dos! Inevitably, I say to myself, "Let's take care of this after the holidays," and reschedule what can wait until January. This time of year can be hectic, and I hope you can put off a less urgent task or two and gift yourself some grace or extra time as a little treat. You deserve it!

Speaking of time flying by, the board of directors is dedicating most of our two-day, in-person January meeting to developing ADRP's next five-year strategic plan. The board developed the last plan in 2020 and has diligently worked on the plan with many exciting successes, including planning ADRP's first international conference in 2025, developing a donor relations fundamentals certificate program (coming soon!), and establishing group memberships. As we wrap up ADRP's 20th anniversary, we are eager to craft what our association will look like when celebrating our 25th anniversary in five years.

But let's not rush things! As of today, when I write this, there are two and a half weeks left in 2024, and I added another reminder for that last week of the month. As a little treat to myself, it says, "Stay Cozy."

I wish you a joyous and prosperous New Year.
