ADRP Members Only | $299

This workshop is limited to 10 attendees and we have now reached capacity.

About the Workshop

Writing to donors takes a certain touch. Not only do you have to be warm, gracious, and authentic, you also have to capture their attention and get to the point. This workshop focuses on basic tenets of donor relations communication, as opposed to institutional marketing, citing research and proven strategies for reaching your donors. It also offers tips on how to keep your writing concise and clear.

This workshop is limited to ten ADRP members from different institutions. Attendees will receive meeting information and homework before the event and will become part of an exclusive MY ADRP Community. We will also review and critique (constructively!) writing samples and homework.

In advance of the workshop, attendees should be prepared to:

  • Submit up to three writing samples to review with your cohort two weeks before the workshop.

Debbie Meyers
ADRP Founding Board Member

Debbie Meyers has worked in advancement for more than 30 years, much of that time in higher education. In addition to creating or enhancing donor relations and stewardship programs at the University of Maryland, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Florida, she has built communications and development programs for a Catholic high school, an art museum, and a health center development office.

A founding Board member of ADRP, she chaired the international conference in 2011 and has a consecutive streak of presenting at every ADRP international conference, and some even before ADRP was formed. Debbie has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in journalism, thanks to her mother who corrected her grammar from her first spoken word. She married her high school drum major, and they have four grown children and two goofy dogs.
