We are pleased to offer ADRP’s first virtual hands-on workshop: Developin g Individualized Stewardship Plans that Are Strategic and Actionable. This session is for anyone who wants to develop a strategy for stewardi ng a donor to your institution. It will be most helpful to those working wi th a complex relationship and nuanced strategic goals.
Over the cour se of two hours, attendees will hear from Anthony Amettis, Associate Direct or of Donor Relations, and Mary Weingartner, Director of Donor Relations, a t the University of Chicago. Mary and Anthony will be joined by Andrea Arne tson-Harris, Director of Donor Relations, and Joanna Riester, Vice Presiden t, Community and Donor Engagement, at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation. Presenters will talk about their individual ized stewardship programs, principles, and partnerships. Attendees will the n work in small, facilitated groups to develop individualized stewardship p lans for a donor to their institution.
At the conclusion of the works hop, participants can expect to have a 12-month plan for engaging a single donor or household, as well as principles and a framework for ongoing indiv idualized stewardship. Those in this group will be added to an excl usive workshop Community in My ADRP in order to have ongoing discu ssions with the group, ask questions, share pre-work, and even participate in office hours.
In advance of the workshop, attende es will be asked to submit the following:

Andrea Arntsen-Harris Andrea has worked in the fi
eld of donor relations for the last 12 years. She learned the ropes and gre
w her expertise in various roles at Northwestern University Feinberg School
of Medicine team. During her decade-long tenure at Feinberg, she oversaw t
he acknowledgment program, supported stewardship events, managed digital an
d print donor communications, and partnered closely with major gift and alu
mni fundraising teams on stewardship and cultivation initiatives. |
Joanna Riester, MPP |
Joanna began her career in donor relations at Northwestern University Feinberg School o f Medicine in 2007. In addition to building a systemized endowed fund and s tewardship reporting program at Feinberg, she was instrumental in launching the school’s online giving pages and social community. After a stint manag ing annual giving at Feinberg, Joanna joined Ann & Robert H. Lurie Chil dren’s Hospital of Chicago as Director, Donor Relations in 2015. In 2018 an d 2021, Joanna was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Vice President, Community and Donor Engagement at Lurie Children’s. As Vice President, Joa nna leads a team of approximately 20 incredibly talented colleagues in dono r relations and volunteer engagement as well as special event, peer-to-peer event and DIY event fundraising. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Comm unication from DePaul University and her Master of Arts in Public Policy an d Administration from Northwestern University. She lives on the north side of Chicago with her husband and dog Halen. |
