ADRP is looking for presenters for the 2015 International Conference! If you have information and/or experience you would like to share, you might be a candidate to present at the 2015 International Conference, to be held September 30 - October 2 in Memphis, TN. We are seeking a wide range of presentations, and we encourage you to apply, whether or not you are a seasoned professional. The Conference appeals to a diverse group of Stewardship and Donor Relations professionals from the United States and Canada and it is a great venue to gain experience as a presenter!

Before you submit your idea, please review these presenter resources>>

You will see that the first step in the process is to tell us your idea - please be simple and to the point! Please submit your idea no later than Friday, March 20, 2015. We will contact each applicant to discuss your idea further and, if your presentation proves to be a good fit for the Conference, we will then ask you to prepare a full presentation outline to be used for marketing purposes

If you are nervous about applying or if this would be your first time presenting at a conference, we encourage you to apply anyway. There is likely an appropriate venue for your presentation, no matter what your experience level. Our Conference volunteers will work with each presenter (or team) to develop a presentation that will enhance the Conference and provide you with a valuable professional development experience. ADRP is not only committed to providing a quality conference, but we are also committed to your success as a professional, so we are providing coaching for all presenters.

Presenters may be eligible for a 50% Conference registration discount (the discount is per session, not per presenter, and may be shared among presenters if there is more than one for a given session). It is our way of saying “thank you” for the hard work you will put in as a presenter! Details on the discount are made available to you at the time you register.

FAQs

What topics are of interest to attendees? A list can be found here. You might also ask your ADRP colleagues what they are interested in learning. Your starting place might be a trend, best practice, point of curiosity or recent events. You do not have to be an expert, but you should approach your topic like one with an open mind, creativity and willingness to do sufficient research.

What length should presentations be? Presentations can range in length from 15-60 minutes and are scheduled based on the topic, experience level and wishes of the presenter. The Content Committee will recommend the best fit for you, in terms of presentation length, style and format.

Who is the audience for the presentations? Conference attendees range from newcomers to seasoned professionals; come from academic institutions, healthcare institutions, arts and social service nonprofits; and from offices of all sizes. On the application form, you can indicate who you think your topic idea might be appropriate for. Conference volunteers will work with you to narrow or broaden your topic and audience ideas so that your presentation will be the best fit possible for the Conference.

I have an idea but I’m not sure how to turn it into a presentation. No problem! We are prepared to work with you to turn your idea into a presentation you can be proud of. Our application process requires only that you have a good idea! If your idea is a good fit for the Conference audience, you will receive guidance from a team of experienced professionals as you prepare to present at the Conference.

What presentation formats are you seeking? We are looking for interactive experiences for our attendees! We want you to have discussions, ask questions, provoke thoughtful dialogue, and be memorable. Provide opportunities for attendees to add into the experience and work with you and other audience members. Research shows that the best presentations are those that engage the audience in new, dynamic ways. You can find a list of alternative presentation formats here.

May I present with a partner or team? Please indicate who you would like to include on your presentation team on the application. Conference volunteers will work with you to determine the appropriate team members and format for your presentation.

What should I expect from the coaching process? Each confirmed session will be paired with a coach knowledgable about the ADRP audience, and when possible, your topic. The coach is available to help you finetune your ideas, prepare for being in front of an audience and compile your visual support and presentation summary. Assignments will take into consideration the experience level and goals of the presenter. Typically, the coaching process includes 2-3 phone calls and an online rehearsal of your presentation.
