What inspired you to volunteer with ADRP?

I was inspired to volunteer with ADRP because I was delighted to be asked! Also as a donor relations professional who is not working in higher education or big medicine, I felt I could contribute a unique – and less often heard – perspective to the broader membership, which was missing.

Please tell us something about your current volunteer role, i.e., the duties you perform, etc., and any other volunteer experience you’ve had with our organization.

Along with my fellow co-chair Kirsten Lavin, I am co-leading the Digital Education Committee. We are responsible for exploring, testing, and securing content for the 2019 and 2020 monthly webinars. While also considering additional content sources, we reviewed and evaluated proposals for this year’s series and have scheduled them. We are also assessing new opportunities for digital content and delivery, including different digital platforms. We will roll out a new program in 2020.

What is your favorite ADRP memory?

My favorite ADRP experience thus far was attending the first-ever ADRP Executive Assembly last May. It was thrilling to interact with 30 senior and emerging leaders in our field, as we identified the professional development needs of our more seasoned members – and how ADRP might meet them. I was deeply honored to be invited, and the summit reinvigorated my passion for our field!

What do you find most fulfilling and/or challenging about your ADRP role?

The most fulfilling aspect of my role is the opportunity to imagine how we could transform the digital education experience for the ADRP membership — offering them engaging and valuable new resources.
