Salary Transparency

ADRP is committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and transparency within the donor relations profession. We strongly encourage employers to include salary ranges in all job postings.

Providing salary information helps promote equitable hiring practices, establishes clear expectations for candidates, and demonstrates an organization's commitment to transparency. It also benefits employers; research consistently shows that job postings with salary ranges attract significantly more candidate interest.

ADRP continues its efforts towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field of donor relations, and to that end, we are strongly recommending that employers include salary ranges in their job postings on our careers website. Not including salary ranges reinforces the salary gaps that are prevalent not only in the fundraising profession, but in all fields, based on race, gender, access to higher education, and other biases. In addition, including salary ranges communicates to potential applicants that your organization practices transparency. It also sets the expectations of potential applicants, showing the value your organization places on the particular role being advertised and the needs and wellbeing of its employees. Research also shows that jobs with salary ranges get 30% more attention.
