Your gift processor comes to you with a number of ever-popular problems. This check is printed with one name and the donation slip says it’s from a totally different person, and you've never heard of either of them. The receipt for that $500,000 gift was processed and mailed…and credited for $500. A stock gift comes in and no one has a clue who the donor is. And how do we do soft credit again?
There is no standard way that gifts come in. Many take some extra thought, as well as a studied look at your policies, to determine the best way to process and receipt them. Regardless, the bottom line is that we have to prove to donors that their troublesome gifts are special to our organization, and that means processing and receipting them accurately. Learn solutions to tricky gifts and share yours!
