New Professionals Cohort Pilot Operations Plan
Session 3A

Wednesday, October 3 | 1:30–3:00 PM

Presented by:
Angela Altamore and Michal Shaw

Session Description:

The ADRP New Professionals Cohort will provide a group of conference attendees, each of whom have been in the donor relations and stewardship profession for less than three years, with a unique and exceptional conference experience. This session will give you an opportunity to connect with others new to the field before being immersed into what can be an overwhelming conference experience. In addition, you will receive a robust introduction to donor relations and stewardship, including topics such as characteristics of successful stewardship professionals, trends in the profession, where to find resources and best practices, tips for collaborating across your organization, and more.

This is an opportunity facilitated by current and/or past ADRP board members. It's the on-boarding to the profession that we all wish we'd received early in our careers! We hope you learn from the experience as well as better understand what ADRP can and should offer to future leaders in donor relations and stewardship.

About the Speakers:

Angela Altamore
Senior Director, Stewardship and Donor Engagement
Kansas State University Foundation

Angela Altamore has been a passionate donor advocate for more than 10 years. As the senior director of stewardship and donor engagement on behalf of the Kansas State University Foundation, Angela manages the team responsible for honoring donor intent and ensuring donors understand firsthand the impact their gifts have on Kansas State University.

Prior to finding her home in donor relations, Angela gained more than five years of development and management experience in roles ranging from gift entry and prospect research to grant writing and gift officer work. This broad background enables her to more fully understand multiple components of a development shop and use that knowledge to create unique donor interactions and events.

Angela is a proud member of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals Board of Directors and a CASE volunteer and can be seen supporting the Wildcats in her vintage polka dot threads.
