As donor information migrates to social platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook, paradigms in development have begun to shift. No longer is social media just an engagement tool. Today, many leading organizations have found success by leveraging social media for prospect discovery, donor relations, and pipeline management. In this session, we will explore the value of social data for fundraising. We'll give a sneak peek into our research on social media and giving, derived from an analysis of $20 billion of data spanning 300+ institutions. Then we will provide tactics and best practices for incorporating social data into your own development operations.

Brent Grinna

Brent Grinna is Founder and CEO of EverTrue. He founded EverTrue in 2010, shortly after serving as a volunteer fundraiser for his undergraduate alma mater, Brown University. This experience led him to realize that the nonprofit world lacked the same technological advances available to the for-profit sector. As donor information began shifting to social platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook, he saw an opportunity to provide advancement teams with highly accurate data accessible through an intuitive interface. Today, EverTrue's software empowers advancement professionals at hundreds of institutions to more easily discover, track, and connect with donors.
