Description:
This session will explore special considerations for stewarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) donors. Conference attendees at all levels of knowledge about and experience with the LGBTQ community are welcome. You will learn key facts and figures about the LGBTQ donor pool and gain access to a variety of rich resources. Most importantly, we will focus on considerations, ideas, and action steps that you can take back to your organization, including tips for sensitive written and oral communication, establishing yourself as an ally to your donors, and creating targeted engagement and recognition initiatives.

Speaker Bio:
Rebecca Taylor
Rebecca is the Assistant Director of Donor Relations at Davidson College and a newcomer to the field of Donor Relations.  She holds degrees in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University and Spanish and Education from Davidson College, and previously worked in the fields of organizational development, student affairs, and alumni relations.  She is a member of the LGBTQ community and has worked extensively with this population, serving as an advisor or board member with local and national LGBTQ organizations, alumni and student networks, and safe space and ally programs.
