About the Webinar

As donor relations professionals, we are sometimes subject to being the "catch-all" of a development shop. But, saying "no" can feel counterintuitive; after all, aren't we supposed to be the ultimate gratitude advocates? In "Saying “No” Without Losing Gratitude: Creating Laser Focus for Donors and Yourself," you will learn techniques for empowering yourself as a donor relations professional so the focus can remain on the organization's donors as the hero of the story. You'll save time, sanity, and while it might feel off-balance at first, saying "no" will actually empower you to say "yes" to the things that truly matter.

Learning Objectives

Attendees will leave this session with the following:

1. Criteria for empowerment in how to clearly define their to-do lists, from a short-, mid-, and long-term perspective;
2. Tips for how to clearly define what their internal priorities are, both individually with donor relations and as they roll up into the broader development team plan/goals and your organization's strategic plan; and
3. Ways to cultivate meaningful relationships with internal and external partnerships that help build resiliency and prevent burnout.

Adrianne DeWeese, Assistant Director of Philanthropy, Rockhurst High School in Kansas City
	Adrianne DeWeese, MPA, is Assistant Director of Philanthropy at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Adrianne began her career in community journalism, earning a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and an MPA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
