SEDRC 2020 Session:
Stewardship Portfolio: A Tiered Approach to Inspire Development Officers
Angela Altamore Senior Director of Stewardship and Donor Engagement
About the Session
Learn about how the Kansas State University Foundation created a tiered approach for individual stewardship plans. Level one focuses on a stewardship toolkit that can be used by Development staff to engage donors in their portfolios. Level two brings a stewardship team member to the table to create a custom plan for major gift donors who have more potential if shown a little extra attention. Level three is the lifetime stewardship level, which identifies donors who have made their ultimate gift and assigns them a stewardship concierge. This model can be scaled as needed and can work across sectors. This popular session from the 2019 International ADRP conference has been updated to share next steps planned for the program and will share new wins that have come from a result of this pilot program.
About the Speaker
Angela Altamore has been a passionate donor advocate for over ten years. As the senior director of stewardship and donor engagement on behalf of the KSU Foundation, Angela manages the team responsible for honoring donor intent and ensuring donors understand firsthand the impact their gifts have on Kansas State University. Prior to finding her home in donor relations, Angela gained more than five years of development and management experience in roles ranging from gift entry and prospect research to grant writing and gift officer work. This broad background enables her to more fully understand multiple components of a development shop and use that knowledge to create unique donor interactions and events.Angela is a proud member of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals and serves as the treasurer on the ADRP Board of Directors and is a CASE volunteer and can be seen supporting the Wildcats in her vintage polka dot threads. |

SEDRC 2020 Session:
Stories at the Center of Stewardship
Melissa Landry Manager, Donor Relations
About the Session
Positive experience, devastating tragedy, tax write-off. These are just a few of the reasons that donors give. This session will discuss what to look for in a good story, how to seek out information and the ways you can share a donor's "why" in a way that will inspire others. We'll share the triumphs, the roadblocks and the joys that come in working in a field where people's generosity quite literally changes and saves lives.
About the Speaker
Melissa Landry joined ADRP a little over four years ago upon entering the field of Donor Relations as a total novice in the industry. A native of New Orleans, she received a BA in journalism and digital design and an MBA in management and leadership from Tulane University. She currently works as Manager of Donor Relations at Ochsner Health System and enjoys spending her days talking to donors about why they give and to the patients who have been impacted by their generosity. In her free time, she loves all things true crime, spending time with her family and friends and traveling with her husband. |
